Working with Robbie has been one of the most unexpected, but amazing experiences. It’s very easy to look from the outside and say, oh he’s so fun (well because he is). Yes, working out with Robbie is always a blast, but what I didn’t know was how much he would challenge me in ways I didn’t even expect. Robbie has helped me get some real results. I lost over 100 pounds in ONE YEAR. So when I say results, I’m a living example. I have always hated weight lifting, but Robbie has made the experience so worth it and FUN. Beyond just working out, what has helped me out a lot are the weight loss challenges we do as a tribe. They challenge me to look at what I am eating in a new way and really take my weight loss to the next level with weight training. I cannot imagine how different my journey to reclaiming my health would be without Robbie. I will forever be grateful for his help, encouragement, tough love, knowledge, and friendship.
I started working out with Robbie to aid in recovery from a dislocated knee and to train my back and lower body correctly. I was in the Army and after exiting the service, have worked out consistently for the last seven years. I considered myself to be in pretty good shape and have never thought much about utilizing a personal trainer, but I was wrong.
Robbie brought to my weekly routine something that I just could not do for myself; specificity, consistency in training my weak areas and aiding me in a much faster recovery than I otherwise would have had. I will continue working with Robbie past full recovery and for the foreseeable future. Knowing that I have his support and knowledge, I can better myself physically and mentally through his services.
I have always thoroughly hated working out and never considered becoming a person who made a lifestyle change by incorporating working out into my weekly routine. I originally started so I could do some shredding before my wedding and to also not lose my mind over wedding plan. I ended up developing goals for myself I never knew I wanted. I have been doing this since session 3 and still find the workouts challenging. I now strive to get stronger and gain definition. Not only does it help me physically, but it has kept me grounded and I look forward to my workouts every week. Also, Robbie is the best!
Back in 2012 I worked hard to lose 50 pounds, but life happened and my old habits creeped back in, causing me to gain it all back....and then some. Flash forward to February of 2016; I had just moved to Columbus and hit rock bottom. I had zero motivation, I wasn't keeping up with my thyroid medication (I have Hashimoto's) and my weight was the highest it had ever been (252 pounds!). In June 2016 I knew I had to do something, so I googled Zumba classes, and after doing a little research, I walked into my first class with Robbie. I couldn't even make it through the first class, but I fell in love! I continued attending his dance classes, but also joined WerkStrong and later added personal training with Robbie. To say it changed my life is an understatement. Over the course of a year I lost 50 lbs., got my confidence back, and gained lifelong friends. I owe all of this to Robbie. His fitness knowledge and ability to make exercising fun and educational has inspired me to set goals I'd never thought I'd achieve.
People have no idea that I could be dead. And I truly believe workout, my friends and faith saved me. I've come a long way. I feel like giving up at times, but Robbie saved me so many times! He knows my story, he was the only one that cared about me when I was out of shape and almost 300 lbs. Almost 50 lbs later, and cancer I'm still here! Robert Sellan's Get it fitness is for PT of all ages and fitness levels. His goal is to empower, support and encourage each client. So that they can live long, active, healthy lives. Robert Sellan is an excellent trainer. He is the perfect combination of tough ("Robbie, you are killing me!") and warm ("Great job, today Andi!"), and he truly cares about the whole person. Because of him I am stronger, and more flexible I have better balance and most importantly, he makes working out fun! I highly recommend him for all your fitness needs.
Robbie is a great trainer. I have done group weight lifting and personal training and I love both programs. Robbie will push you to do your personal best and will encourage you all the way through. I feel Robbie is very genuine and truly wants what's the best for you in your fitness journey. Robbie has taken his time to help me figure out what I need to tweak. He is someone that makes the hour go by fast because we always have an awesome time even though we are pushing through a tough exercise. I recommend him to everyone for training and dance fitness.
In 2017, I could barely complete a lunge without feeling pain in my knees. The weight I carried made it difficult to even know where to begin with exercising and training. What lifts should I be doing? How much cardio? These questions were intimidating. Since starting with Robbie, I’ve never seen better results or been more hopeful about the direction of my health. Weight loss and exercising can be a lonely journey; but not with Robbie. Every single step of the way he is there to encourage and motivate me. He effortlessly modifies workouts so that I’m capable of doing full sets and getting the most out of my workouts. I used to dread going to the gym, but not anymore. Training with Robbie has given me the confidence I need to succeed on my weight loss journey, both when training with him and on my own. Since I began training with Robbie, I have lost 70 pounds and can actually do lunges without feeling any pain! Without a doubt, I have Robbie to thank for all of my success!
